It doesn’t hear me
Open iPhone Settings › Rehearsal Partner and turn on Microphone and Speech Recognition. A clip-on mic close to your mouth helps most.
Which voices can I use?
Any English voice on your iPhone. For a more natural sound, download a free Enhanced or Premium voice in iPhone Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices › English, then pick it in the app under Settings › Voice. To hear your talk in your own voice, make a Personal Voice in iPhone Settings › Accessibility › Personal Voice, then tap Use my Personal Voice in the app’s Settings › Voice.
My acts weren’t found
Start each act with a heading like “ACT 1: Title”, “Part 1” or “Section 1”. Or use the template in Settings, or tap Fix something after loading to add acts in the editor.
What file types work?
Word (.docx), PDF, plain text and Markdown, or paste the text. From Google Docs, download as Word first.
Lines break in odd places
Update to the latest version. Sentences split across lines in a Word or PDF file are joined back together when you load it. To fix anything else, tap Edit in the Script tab.
How do I hear my script?
Tap Listen next to Start. It keeps playing with the screen locked. The sliders button switches between Read, Gaps and Prompts.
